Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with Veterans Affairs standards and security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support and troubleshoot system outages or problems
- Document issues accurately and communicate status updates to users and senior management
- Maintain and install computing infrastructure while implementing continuous improvement methodologies
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including experience with S3, Step Functions, and CloudWatch
- Strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
