Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
To provide high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will manage system outages, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with VA standards while working remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
- Document issues and communicate status updates to users and senior management while ensuring compliance with security policies
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain an inventory of system assets
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3, Step Functions, and CloudWatch
- Strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with experience in system administration tasks
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and configuration management
