Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs operations, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions to technical problems, and ensure compliance with security policies while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, including diagnosing and resolving outages
- Document problems and communicate status updates to users and management while maintaining system asset inventory
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud, including S3, Step Functions, and CloudWatch
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or SaltStack
