Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will manage high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical issues, and ensure compliance with VA standards while maintaining system performance and reliability.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, addressing outages and technical problems
- Document issues and communicate status updates to users and senior management while ensuring compliance with security policies
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and manage system assets and configurations
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with scripting languages such as Python or Bash
- Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
