Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop solutions to technical problems, and ensure compliance with VA standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of large-scale production systems
- Detect, isolate, document, and resolve system outages, ensuring rapid recovery and communication with users
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain documentation of system configurations and processes
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
