Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will manage day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with VA standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Perform high-level operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
- Document and report system issues, working directly with users and senior management on problem statuses
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain inventory of system assets while ensuring security compliance
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and configuration management
