Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
To support Veterans Affairs, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with security policies while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
- Document problems and communicate status updates to users and management, ensuring effective problem resolution
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain system asset inventory in compliance with VA standards
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including experience with automation tools and scripting languages
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
- U.S. citizenship and eligibility for a Public Trust security clearance are required
