Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will manage day-to-day operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical issues, and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Perform high-level operational support and maintenance for cloud systems, including diagnosing and resolving outages
- Document system issues and communicate status updates to users and senior management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain inventory of system assets
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Strong proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, Linux/Unix, and Windows operating systems
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
- Knowledge of cloud-native technologies, infrastructure-as-code tools, and CI/CD pipelines
