Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) to perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop technical solutions, and manage system outages while working remotely.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide day-to-day operational support and resolve system outages for scientific workstations
- Document problems and communicate status updates to users and senior management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud, Linux/Unix, and Windows operating systems
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
- Ability to troubleshoot and optimize system performance and reliability
