Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Providing high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will develop solutions for technical problems, manage system outages, and ensure compliance with security policies in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of production systems
- Detect, document, and resolve system outages while communicating status updates to users and management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain compliance with VA standards
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including experience with S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, as well as scripting languages like Python or Bash
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet, and knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
