Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
To provide high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will manage system outages, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with VA standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
- Document issues and maintain system asset inventory while communicating status updates to users and management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and ensure compliance with security policies and standards
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
- Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation purposes
