Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support and maintenance for large-scale production systems
- Detect, isolate, document, and resolve system outages while communicating status updates to users and management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain inventory of system assets
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud, including S3, Step Functions, and CloudWatch
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
