Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions to technical problems, and ensure compliance with VA standards and security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support and maintenance for production systems
- Detect, isolate, and resolve system outages while documenting issues accurately
- Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams to address hardware and software problems
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related fields, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
