Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, manage system outages, and ensure compliance with VA standards while maintaining system assets.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support and resolve system outages for scientific workstations
- Document problems and communicate status updates to users and senior management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain compliance with security policies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
