Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Experienced in managing large-scale production systems, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will provide operational support for complex application cloud systems, troubleshoot system outages, and ensure compliance with VA standards while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Perform high-level operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, addressing technical issues and outages
- Document problems and solutions while communicating with users and senior management regarding system status
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and ensure compliance with security policies and standards
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation and configuration management
