Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support of complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with security policies while managing large-scale production systems.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support and resolve system outages for scientific workstations
- Document problems and communicate status updates to users and senior management
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain system asset inventory
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency with AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong experience in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems with system administration tasks
- Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Cloud Formation
