Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Managing day-to-day operational support for complex application cloud systems, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will develop solutions for technical problems, ensure compliance with VA standards, and maintain system performance in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform high-level operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, including troubleshooting and resolving outages
- Document issues and communicate status updates to users and management while ensuring compliance with security policies
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and manage system assets effectively
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, along with strong skills in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
- Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI) security clearance
