Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and ensure compliance with security policies while managing system outages and user issues.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, resolving outages and documenting issues
- Develop and implement automation solutions using scripting languages and tools to enhance system performance
- Communicate with users and management regarding system status, ensuring compliance with VA standards and security policies
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Strong proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud, Linux/Unix, and Windows operating systems
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef, and proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash
- U.S. Citizenship required, with the ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance
