Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
To support the Veterans Affairs department, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex cloud application systems, develop technical solutions, and manage system outages while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support and troubleshooting for production systems
- Document and report system issues, ensuring timely resolution and compliance with VA standards
- Collaborate with users and senior management to communicate system status and improvements
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
