Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
To provide high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, the full-time Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will develop solutions for technical problems, manage system outages, and ensure compliance with security policies in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, resolving outages and documenting issues
- Communicate with users and management regarding system statuses and provide training and documentation as needed
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies to enhance IT systems and ensure compliance with VA standards
Required qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, including system administration tasks
- Knowledge of cloud-native technologies and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Cloud Formation
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
