Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) for a full-time remote position, responsible for high-level operational support of complex application cloud systems, developing solutions for technical problems, and ensuring compliance with VA standards and security policies.
Key responsibilities
- Perform day-to-day operational support and maintenance of cloud systems, detecting and resolving outages
- Document and report system issues while communicating with users and senior management regarding problem statuses
- Implement continuous improvement methodologies and maintain inventory of system assets
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or a related field, particularly in production environments
- Experience with AWS and/or Azure Cloud, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation
