Senior Systems Engineer
Job Summary
Working remotely in a full-time capacity, the Senior Systems Engineer (Production Support) will perform high-level operational support for complex application cloud systems, develop solutions for technical problems, and manage system outages while ensuring compliance with VA standards.
Key responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational support and maintenance of large-scale production systems
- Detect, document, and resolve system outages, implementing workarounds as necessary
- Communicate with users and management regarding system status and technical issues
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering or related fields, particularly in production environments
- Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure Cloud services, including S3 and CloudWatch
- Strong experience with Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems, along with system administration tasks
- Ability to script in languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation tasks
