Job Summary
Hands-on and technically skilled, the Senior Systems Engineer will manage the configuration, migration, and continuous improvement of Airbnb's Atlassian platforms, focusing on leading the transition from Jira Data Center to Jira Cloud in a remote work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert and administrator for JiraCloud Software and JiraCloud Service Management, overseeing configuration standards and technical debt reduction
- Architect and implement scalable Jira configurations and lead migrations, coordinating with cross-functional teams for seamless transitions
- Identify opportunities for AI and automation to enhance system reliability and productivity, building improvements rapidly
Required qualifications
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with Atlassian administration, specifically Jira Software and Jira Service Management in enterprise environments
- Proven experience leading Jira migrations from Data Center to Cloud, with a strong command of Jira workflow design and JQL
- Familiarity with Jira REST API for integrations and custom reporting, alongside experience with automation rules and JavaScripting
- Experience configuring Jira Service Management projects, including SLAs and custom workflows
- Knowledge of AI/ML capabilities within the Atlassian ecosystem and experience with user lifecycle management and security practices
