Senior Threat Hunting Analyst

Job Summary

Focused on detecting and mitigating cyber threats, the remote Senior Threat Hunting Analyst will manage detection engineering tasks, develop detection rules, and conduct hypothesis-driven hunts to identify potential intrusions across various platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to the detection lifecycle by creating, testing, and tuning detection rules for multiple Huntress products
• Undertake hypothesis-driven hunts to proactively identify stealthy threat actor techniques that evade initial defenses
• Translate threat intelligence into refined detections and investigate ambiguous signs of attacker activity for deeper analysis

Required Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in detection engineering, threat hunting, SOC, MDR, or incident response
• Intermediate knowledge of Windows internals and working knowledge of Linux, macOS, Microsoft 365, Azure, and Google Workspace
• Experience developing and documenting detections from threat intelligence and real-world investigations
• Familiarity with detection languages such as Sigma, Suricata, Snort, or YARA, and query languages like KQL or Splunk SPL
• Understanding of adversary tradecraft and the roles of different threat actors
