Senior Transmission Planning Consultant
Job Summary
Leading high-impact studies and consulting engagements, the full-time Senior Transmission Planning Consultant will oversee advanced transmission planning studies and serve as the primary client contact, all while working remotely.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and manage transmission planning studies, including stability, power flow, reliability, and short-circuit analyses
- Serve as the primary client contact, driving project scope, methodologies, and deliverables
- Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior engineers and consultants
Required qualifications
- B.S. in electrical engineering or a related field; M.S. with 12+ years, Ph.D. with 8+ years, or B.S. with 15+ years of relevant experience
- In-depth knowledge of transmission system planning processes and methodologies
- Strong competency in PSS/E and experience with Transmission Adequacy & Reliability Assessment (TARA)
- Familiarity with NERC, FERC, and ISO/RTO requirements and processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
