Senior Underwriter - Ontario Licensed

Job Summary

To support client underwriting needs, the full-time remote Senior Underwriter - Ontario Licensed will analyze mortality and morbidity risks, provide technical expertise, and make independent decisions within specified authority while contributing to a positive team environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze mortality and morbidity risks to determine appropriate underwriting requirements and risk categories
• Provide technical expertise and support to client companies while managing challenging situations effectively
• Support departmental management through training, team discussions, and participation in projects

Required qualifications

• College diploma or university degree, or equivalent working experience
• Minimum of 6 years of underwriting experience, including substandard business and medical and financial underwriting
• Bilingual in French and English (oral and written) to communicate with predominantly English-speaking clients
• Approval authority of $3M in life insurance and $500,000 in critical illness insurance
• Experience in multiple lines of business (Life, Disability, Critical Illness) is an asset
