Senior Underwriter, Oregon Licensed

Job Summary

Evaluating and underwriting complex employee benefits cases, the full-time Senior Underwriter, Oregon Licensed will focus on accounts in the 1,000-4,999 life range, driving profitable growth and customer retention in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze economic and financial trends to inform pricing and retention strategies
• Develop long-term solutions that strengthen profitability and customer relationships
• Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor to underwriting colleagues

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; HS Diploma or equivalent required
• 6 years of progressively responsible experience in employee benefits underwriting, with 3-5 years in Life, Short-term Disability (STD), and Long-term Disability (LTD) underwriting
• Strong proficiency in underwriting guidelines, procedures, and state insurance statutes
• Experience mentoring or supporting the development of other underwriters
• Familiarity with mid-market or regional account underwriting environments
