Senior UNIX System Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting a mixed environment of Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Oracle Enterprise Linux, and Solaris UNIX systems, the full-time Senior UNIX System Engineer will manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support servers while creating technical documentation and implementing new system hardware and software, with the flexibility to work remotely or on-site in Virginia.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, deploy, troubleshoot, and support servers in a mixed UNIX environment
• Plan, execute, and implement new system hardware and software
• Create and maintain team technical instructions, operating procedures, and policies

Required Qualifications

• CompTIA Security+ certification
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent hands-on experience
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance
• Five or more years of experience as a UNIX Systems Administrator or IT Engineer
• Three or more years of experience in patch management and managing local users via command line
