Job Summary
To support Department of Veterans Affairs modernization initiatives, the remote Senior VA Health Integration Specialist will serve as a senior technical lead for health-system integration, focusing on mapping and troubleshooting workflows across various VA systems and ensuring reliable data movement for clinical and operational information.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical lead for VA health-system integration across multiple platforms, including VistA and Oracle Health
- Map and troubleshoot end-to-end workflows, including consults, authorizations, and medical records
- Coordinate with clinical informatics and operational stakeholders to resolve cross-system integration issues
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, health informatics, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered
- 10+ years of experience with healthcare claims and processing, particularly with EDI transactions in X-12 formats
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare systems integration and interoperability
- Deep hands-on expertise with VistA/CPRS and knowledge of VA systems and workflows
- Strong SQL skills for investigating complex issues across databases and reporting environments
