Senior Web Software Engineer

Job Summary

Partnering with the Data Science team, the remote Senior Web Software Engineer will develop prototypes that demonstrate the potential of new data models, focusing on creating effective user experiences and enabling strategic business decisions.

Key responsibilities:

• Co-develop prototypes with Data Scientists to address key questions and showcase results to stakeholders
• Choose implementation approaches that balance speed and realism for effective prototyping
• Build APIs to provide data from backend systems for use in prototypes and guide data scientists in their prototyping efforts

Required qualifications:

• 6+ years of experience in a hands-on web development role, particularly in front-end development
• Strong understanding of data visualization fundamentals
• Expertise in TypeScript, JavaScript, React, and low-level data visualization frameworks like d3/visx or webgl
• Experience building custom interactions and novel user interface components
• Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with data scientists and/or ML engineers
