Senior z/OS Systems Programmer

Job Summary

Delivering technical guidance and support, the full-time Senior z/OS Systems Programmer will plan, implement, and maintain IBM Mainframe z/OS software and third-party applications, primarily for government agency clients in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Install and maintain Broadcom Mainframe Software and associated customer systems, ensuring compliance with the mainframe operating system
• Provide off-hours support for new product maintenance applications and manage multiple Sysplexes with extensive LPAR configurations
• Document test plans, coordinate change control using ITIL processes, and mentor junior technicians and government employees

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience as a z/OS Systems Programmer
• Experience with software installations using SMP/e and z/OSMF, preferably with Broadcom Mainframe Software
• Active Security Clearance level of Secret, with DOD 8570 or 8140 certification such as CompTIA A+ or Security+
• Ability to perform root cause analysis and manage vendor software issues effectively
• Strong technical proficiency and customer-facing skills, with experience in a government IT environment
