Short Term Disability Appeals Specialist

Job Summary

As a full-time remote Short Term Disability Appeals Specialist, the successful candidate will manage a caseload of appeals claims, providing thorough reviews and determinations regarding coverage and compensability while leveraging their expertise in claims processes and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and process claims by investigating complex information and applying claim policies to ensure fair management of assigned claims
• Review and interpret complex coverage contracts to determine eligibility and resolve financial calculation gaps
• Provide technical guidance to Claims management and teams, and liaise with stakeholders to address escalations and clarify issues

Required qualifications

• 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
• 1 - 3+ years of experience in Short-Term and/or Long-Term Disability
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Experience working with multiple products is a plus
• Presentation training or skills are desirable
