Job Summary

To support diverse communication needs, the part-time Sinhala-English Phone Interpreter will handle on-demand calls, facilitating conversations between Sinhala and English speakers while working remotely as an independent contractor.

Key responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to interpreting sessions and conduct interpretations in a professional manner
• Render accurate concepts and meanings while adhering to established interpretation protocols
• Maintain professionalism and cultural sensitivity throughout all interpreting sessions

Required qualifications:

• Fluency in Sinhala and English, with an understanding of associated cultural dynamics
• Experience or education in language-related fields such as teaching, translation, or interpretation preferred
• Excellent listening and retention skills to ensure high accuracy during interpretation
• Ability to remain neutral and objective, especially during sensitive conversations
• Must be at least 18 years of age and legally authorized to work in the United States
