Site Reliability Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking an experienced Site Reliability Engineer for a remote contract position, who will design and maintain observability systems, manage 24/7 on-call rotations, and mentor new engineers while ensuring system reliability across AWS infrastructure and Python services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design observability systems and define service level objectives (SLOs) aligned with business needs
- Own the 24/7 on-call rotation and manage incident response, including troubleshooting and postmortems
- Establish reliability standards and mentor additional SRE engineers as the team expands
Required Qualifications
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in SRE, DevOps, or Platform Engineering at scale
- Strong proficiency in AWS services including ALB, ECS/Fargate, and RDS Aurora
- Production experience in Python backend engineering and debugging services in containers
- Experience with incident response, on-call rotations, and building observability systems
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
