Site Reliability Engineer III
Job Summary
Seeking a full-time remote Site Reliability Engineer III (DBA) who will manage the stability, scalability, and reliability of production database systems, primarily Vitess and Cassandra, while also establishing operational procedures and optimizing database performance.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and administer highly available database architecture for Vitess and Cassandra
- Establish operational procedures and optimize database performance through tuning and capacity planning
- Participate in incident response, monitoring service health, and driving reliability initiatives
Required qualifications:
- 6-8 years of experience in site reliability engineering or database engineering with production database systems
- Deep hands-on experience with MySQL and distributed or sharded database systems, preferably Vitess
- Experience administering NoSQL databases such as Cassandra
- Strong SQL skills, including query performance analysis and schema design
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or Go, and familiarity with Kubernetes and Docker
