Snowflake DBA
Job Summary
To support the performance and reliability of a cloud data platform, the contract Snowflake DBA will manage the administration and maintenance of Snowflake environments, ensuring security and optimizing performance, while working remotely from Mexico, Colombia, Costa Rica, or India.
Key responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Snowflake environments, including warehouses, databases, and security controls
- Monitor query performance and assist in tuning and cost governance tasks under senior guidance
- Collaborate with data engineers to troubleshoot data pipelines and support broader database operations
Required qualifications
- 3-5 years of database administration experience, including 1-2 years with Snowflake in a production environment
- Working knowledge of Snowflake architecture and SQL skills for writing and troubleshooting queries
- Familiarity with Snowflake security concepts and usage monitoring
- Basic understanding of at least one cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Experience with data pipeline/orchestration tools like Airflow or dbt is a plus
