Software Developer - IBM i/RPG
Job Summary
To modernize RPG codebases and implement DevOps practices in a high-impact digital healthcare environment, the full-time contract Software Developer - IBM i/RPG will work remotely, focusing on RPG logic development, database management, and web integration.
Key responsibilities
- Design, code, and refactor software modules using RPG on the IBM iSeries platform
- Build and optimize complex SQL queries and manage large datasets across DB2 and SQL Server
- Write automated tests and utilize CI/CD tools for deployment flows and code refactoring
Required qualifications
- 5 years of overall software engineering experience, with 2-3 years in industry-specific roles
- Strong expertise in IBM iSeries (AS/400) and proficiency in RPG programming languages (RPGLE / Free Format)
- Experience with DB2 and SQL Server, including managing large datasets
- Hands-on exposure to Software Development Lifecycle methodologies and Agile/Scrum techniques
- Familiarity with continuous integration, automated testing, and structured code reviews
