Software Development Lead
Job Summary
Leading a team of multidisciplinary professionals, the remote Software Development Lead will manage the design, development, and deployment of secure software solutions for the Department of Education's Federal Student Aid Cybersecurity and Privacy Support Services, ensuring compliance with federal standards and Agile methodologies.
Key responsibilities:
- Direct the design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of secure software systems
- Establish and enforce standards for development, secure coding, documentation, automated testing, and release management
- Lead Agile planning and execution, including backlog prioritization and sprint/release planning
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline; equivalent experience may substitute
- 8+ years of software engineering/application development experience
- 3+ years of experience leading software development teams or major engineering activities
- Experience implementing secure SDLC and SecDevOps/DevSecOps practices
- Strong knowledge of Agile development methodologies and NIST SP 800-218 SSDF
