Job Summary
Leading the engineering team responsible for the iOS app, the full-time Manager, Software Development will provide people and delivery leadership while remaining hands-on in coding, prototyping, and reviewing pull requests to enhance mobile experiences for readers.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and develop software engineers, providing feedback, career development, and performance management
- Establish priorities and track progress against delivery baselines, addressing risks and dependencies effectively
- Provide technical leadership in iOS architecture and development, ensuring high-quality application design and performance
Required qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 7+ years of professional native iOS development experience, including proficiency with Swift and iOS tools
- Experience managing software engineers, including coaching and performance management
- Proven ability to lead complex engineering projects from planning through production support
- Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD, and software delivery practices for mobile applications
