Software Engineer
Job Summary
Seeking a mid-level Software Engineer for a full-time remote position, responsible for developing and maintaining features on an existing Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform using Ruby, while balancing defect resolution with new feature development in an agile environment.
Key responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain features on the EHR platform, working across both front-end and back-end layers
- Triage, debug, and resolve defects in the production application, performing root-cause analysis
- Participate in agile delivery processes, including sprint planning and code reviews, while ensuring quality and compliance
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 3+ years of professional software development experience using Ruby, preferably with Ruby on Rails
- Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries and working with relational databases
- Experience developing new features within an existing, mature codebase, ideally in a healthcare setting
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps
