Software Engineer, AI Systems

Job Summary

Building and operating LLM-backed APIs and data services, the full-time Software Engineer, AI Systems will develop agentic AI platforms and ingestion pipelines while collaborating with Product to refine specifications and enhance the customer experience in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and operate APIs, agents, and retrieval systems, ensuring integration with internal and external systems
• Develop evals for agent and retrieval-augmented generation workflows to improve quality and reliability
• Collaborate with Product and Design to translate broad goals into actionable plans and deliver small releases

Required qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in building and operating backend services and distributed systems in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Production experience with agentic AI, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and evals
• Strong proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Go
• Experience with data-intensive systems, including object storage, relational databases, and caching mechanisms
• A BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience
