Software Engineer, Identity Platform

Job Summary

To build and own identity across OpenRouter's inference gateway and products, the full-time Software Engineer, Identity Platform will unify authentication methods, implement delegated access for applications and agents, and ensure secure enterprise provisioning in a remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Unify authentication across various credential types and manage the full lifecycle of issued credentials
• Build delegated access systems for applications and agents, enabling secure sign-in and consent management
• Define the core identity model, ensuring clean boundaries and ownership semantics for users, organizations, and applications

Required qualifications

• 5+ years of experience building production identity, authentication, or authorization systems at a SaaS or security company
• Deep understanding of identity standards such as OAuth 2.x, OIDC, SAML, SCIM, and JWTs
• Experience designing authorization models for multi-tenant B2B products
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and SQL, with experience in Postgres
• A security mindset with the ability to design for least privilege and articulate decisions to enterprise security reviewers
