Software Engineer II
Job Summary
To modernize Hertz's tech stack, the full-time remote Software Engineer II will design, develop, and maintain applications and services using Java and cloud-based technologies while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.
Key responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain backend applications and REST APIs to support critical business functionality
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define requirements and deliver solutions that enhance fleet utilization and operational decision-making
- Utilize modern engineering tools and practices to improve development velocity and contribute to the software development lifecycle
Required qualifications:
- B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
- 2+ years of software engineering experience developing backend applications or services
- Proficiency in Java or another modern object-oriented programming language
- Experience working within cloud environments, preferably AWS
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and modern software development practices
