Job Summary
Working remotely or from various US locations, the full-time salaried Software Engineer II will enhance the Scala, Bazel, and CI foundations used by Iterable engineers, focusing on improving developer workflows, contributing to shared engineering foundations, and making continuous integration more reliable.
Key responsibilities
- Improve the core developer workflow by building and refining systems for compiling, testing, and validating code changes
- Contribute to shared engineering foundations, including libraries, frameworks, and service development practices
- Enhance continuous integration processes to ensure faster feedback loops while maintaining quality and confidence in releases
Required qualifications
- Strong software engineering fundamentals in Scala, Java, Kotlin, or a similar production language
- Experience with build systems, dependency management, and CI tools such as Bazel, SBT, or GitHub Actions
- Ability to debug complex build and developer workflow issues and implement clear fixes or automation
- Familiarity with AI tools for engineering tasks, including codebase exploration and test generation
- Clear communication skills to collaborate with service teams and explain technical trade-offs
