Software Engineer II, Backend
Job Summary
Joining the Identity Decisioning team, the full-time remote Software Engineer II, Backend will build backend systems to validate consumer identity across Affirm's products while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery and operational support.
Key responsibilities
- Break down larger projects into tasks and collaborate with team members to ensure timely delivery
- Engage with product management and design to articulate technical constraints and support the product development lifecycle
- Create and monitor metrics to support operations and availability, including on-call efforts
Required qualifications
- 1.5+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Proficiency in designing and developing backend systems using Python or Kotlin
- Familiarity with distributed systems and technologies such as AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes
- Experience in writing clear, well-tested, and extensible code while debugging and providing feedback
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
