Job Summary
Working remotely on a full-time basis, the Software Engineer III will design and implement reliable systems for GitHub's compute foundations, focusing on VM provisioning, configuration management, and automation to enhance operational efficiency.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to the design and implementation of secure and performant systems across GitHub's compute foundations
- Build automation to reduce operational toil and enhance the safety and predictability of infrastructure provisioning
- Maintain and improve critical platform services, including VM lifecycle workflows and Terraform tooling
Required qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in Software Engineering or a related technical discipline, with proficiency in languages such as C, C++, C#, JavaScript, Go, Ruby, Rust, or Python
- 2+ years of experience building and supporting large, high-traffic applications within platform/infrastructure domains
- 2+ years of experience supporting and building cloud-native workloads in Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud
