Job Summary

To enhance the development cycle for ChatGPT engineers, the full-time hybrid Software Engineer, Infrastructure will focus on improving local development, build systems, CI, deployment infrastructure, and production safety signals to streamline the process of moving changes from development to production.

Key responsibilities

• Reduce local development startup and iteration latency for ChatGPT engineers
• Improve CI reliability and merge throughput by minimizing unrelated failures and enhancing test ownership
• Establish lightweight metrics to measure the impact of changes, such as commit-to-prod latency and failure rates

Required qualifications

• Strong experience with large-scale developer infrastructure, build systems, CI/CD, and production reliability
• Proficiency in debugging across local machines, remote caches, and distributed deploy pipelines
• Familiarity with systems like Bazel, Buildkite, Kubernetes, and GitHub workflows
• Ability to communicate effectively across teams and translate developer pain signals into actionable metrics and solutions
• Experience in automating workflows while maintaining production safety
