Software Engineer, Modernization
Job Summary
To drive modernization efforts, the full-time Software Engineer, Modernization will systematically identify and eliminate technical debt, re-platform legacy systems onto cloud-native architectures, and leverage AI to enhance development workflows in a remote setting.
Key responsibilities
- Identify, prioritize, and remediate technical debt while partnering with Engineering Leads to execute a structured modernization backlog
- Migrate workloads from legacy infrastructure to cloud-native patterns on AWS, applying modern software design principles
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure modernization efforts align with active product development and maintain system quality
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, particularly in legacy modernization and refactoring initiatives
- Proficiency in .NET and C#, with experience in both legacy and modern application codebases
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native development on AWS, including services like Lambda and ECS/EKS
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs and microservices
