Software Engineer, Networking
Job Summary
Seeking a full-time Software Engineer, Networking to work remotely, who will develop the Tailscale product by contributing to open-source client code and backend services, focusing on networking features and optimizations while collaborating with UX/UI designers and product managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, test, and document core networking software components as part of a team
- Exhibit ownership of running services, enhancing observability, participating in incident response, and managing customer support escalations
- Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of networking systems and resources
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience with application-layer networking concepts and distributed components
- Deep knowledge of operating system-level networking internals, including socket programming and routing tables
- Professional experience with Go (Golang)
- Experience designing and maintaining distributed systems with an understanding of concurrency and scalability
- Proficiency with relational databases and writing efficient SQL queries
