Job Summary
Leading the Billing engineering team, the full-time Software Engineering Manager will drive the strategy and execution of Render's usage-based billing systems, ensuring accurate and reliable customer invoicing in a remote environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and grow the Billing engineering team, managing usage capture, data pipelines, and invoicing processes
- Own the roadmap for billing systems, ensuring alignment with pricing, reporting, and customer needs
- Build monitoring and reconciliation systems to ensure billing correctness and reliability
Required qualifications
- Strong people leadership and experience managing engineers, including senior and staff engineers
- Hands-on experience with usage-based billing or revenue-critical systems, including third-party platforms
- Proven ability to build and scale engineering teams in fast-paced environments
- Strong business instincts to connect engineering investments to billing accuracy and customer trust
- Experience partnering with Finance, Product, and Customer Experience teams
